Ireland Day 9
I again headed out South today and stopped at the Cliffs of Moher.
These are the most famous Atlantic sea cliffs in Ireland. After visiting the cliffs I headed South
some more and this day made it to Limerick. I saw King John's castle and
a museum there and walked around town for a while. It's the 3rd largest city in Ireland, so it
was pretty busy. It rained on and off all day today, and poured pretty hard while I was eating
in a little cafe and cleared up a little on the way back to the car. I headed out of town kind
of late, about 7:00 or so and it was really cloudy and rainy and DARK. So as I headed off
towards Dingle, it became very apparent that I was not driving fast enough for the locals, so I
found a B&B and got off the road and out of the rain. The lady there was very nice, a
schoolteacher, and she made tea and we sat and talked about where I'd been and where I planned
to go. She told me to take Connor Pass on the way to Dingle and then come back on the main road,
or the other way around, either way, take the pass. She said it was suppose to be beautiful if
you could see anything but clouds.
I have to consult my journal as to where this fits in the day, but I have pictures from
Galway Bay as well.
